Conheci Curitiba na década de 1990. Na época havia cinemas de rua e, ao sair de uma sessão noturna (O filme era Titanic) encantei-me com a neblina que cobria o famoso Calçadão da XV. Ali idealizei: “Ainda venho morar nesta cidade!”.
O sopro do destino levou minhas folhas para outras paragens. Voltei para minha terra natal para estudar Rádio e TV, depois fui trabalhar com revistas de novelas no Rio de Janeiro. Contudo, a imagem daquela bruma insistia em minha memória.
Então, após lançar meu primeiro romance ‘Cinza Solidão’, no dia seguinte ao coquetel, já de malas arrumadas, parti rumo à capital paranaense. E desde então estou aqui pra contar a vocês o que tanto me encanta nesta cidade que, mesmo tão nublada e, é claro, com seus problemas, brilha pela organização, limpeza e oferta de bosques e parques.

Ontem e hoje
Num passado remoto, o local foi de grande importância nas paradas de tropeiros que galopavam do Rio Grande do Sul até Sorocaba (SP). Hoje é o município mais populoso da região Sul do Brasil.
Diante de planos urbanísticos que visavam o controle de seu crescimento, a cidade foi pincelada por diversos parques, bosques, e um sistema de transporte coletivo (BRT) que acabou chamando a atenção de várias partes do mundo.
É ecologicamente sustentável, preocupa-se de forma conjunta. É a terra do pinhão, do Festival de Teatro mais famoso do país, da alegria de todos os povos. Em Curitiba tem o bairro Santa Felicidade (com a típica culinária italiana), o Ópera de Arame (um dos símbolos mais conhecidos da urbe com sua estrutura tubular e transparente sobre um lago), as Ruas da Cidadania (de prontidão para atender as necessidades da população), as ciclovias que cortam bairros e parques. Tem inclusive um trem, do qual você embarca na rodoferroviária, nas imediações do centro da cidade, e que desce a serra do mar até a pequena Morretes no litoral (um passeio turístico inesquecível).
É o amor!
Eu sei que haverá pessoas questionando minha positividade sobre a cidade. Eu respondo que essa ‘vibe’ é possível em qualquer lugar. Olhe o que há de bom no seu município e aplauda isso. E o que há de ruim, questione, pois é um direito de todos nós.
Quero terminar respondendo a uma pergunta que sempre ouço quando vou a outros lugares: “É verdade que o povo em Curitiba é meio frio?”
Confesso que não. Há pessoas mais reservadas. Acredito que essa seja a palavra correta. E ser reservado vem da cultura, ou seja, quando se firma amizade é pra sempre. Frio é o ar (Curitiba é a capital mais gelada do Brasil)!
E digo mais! Quando sinto o ventinho esfriar minhas bochechas, eu fico feliz, pois sei que é o jeito de Curitiba dizer o quanto sou bem-vindo, sempre. Aliás, todos nós! Basta o pinhão e o quentão (é assim que chamamos o vinho quente por aqui) em ambas as mãos que a vida se aquece.
