Nascido na região do Vêneto, mais precisamente em San Biagio di Callalta, Pierre Cardin migrou para a França por uma decisão da família, que intencionava, assim, fugir do regime fascista.
O inicio da sua carreira aos 14 anos, foi como alfaiate na cidade Saint-Etienne, na casa Pasquin, em Paris. Lá, foi responsável pela criação dos figurinos da primeira versão do filme “A Bela e a Fera”.
Só depois, em 1947 iniciou sua carreira trabalhando para a Dior. Já em 1950, fundou seu próprio ateliê e foi construindo sua história. Ficou conhecido pelo seu estilo revolucionário com seus designes futuristas, abstratos e peças feitas de vinil.
Disposto a democratizar o acesso à moda, foi um dos primeiros estilistas a licenciar produtos e roupas para serem vendidas em grandes lojas de departamento, o prêt-à-porter. Sua vida e obra pautaram vários documentários e sua grife se tornou muito famosa na Ásia e nos Estados Unidos.
Além de criar roupas femininas, impulsionou a moda masculina criando coleções unissex, tornando assim o primeiro estilista a lançar uma coleção masculina.
Seu nome de batismo, vale dizer, era Pietro Cardin. Mas foi como Pierre que o criador se tornou uma legenda no mundo inteiro. Não por outro motivo, sua morte, nesta terça-feira, foi lamentada por pessoas de todos os cantos do planeta.
A marca de Pierre Cardin fez uma homenagem no perfil oficial, publicando uma foto e uma declaração marcante dele: “Sempre trabalhei no meu próprio estilo, que é diferente de todos os outros. A minha intenção sempre foi ser diferente porque esta é a única maneira de durar”.
Pierre Cardin será sempre lembrado pelo trabalho revolucionário na moda, representado ontem, hoje, amanhã e sempre.
