David Reis - Duhigó - Primeira Mulher Indígena Amazonense no acervo do MASP.
O MASP possui atualmente 11 mil peças artísticas e é considerado o mais importante museu do Hemisfério Sul.
A obra de arte que garantiu a entrada de Duhigó no MASP é intitulada Nepũ Arquepũ, que significa, na língua Tukano, Rede Macaco (foto acima). O quadro foi produzido em Manaus em 2019, no tamanho de 185,5 x 275,5 cm, em tinta acrílica sobre madeira e narra uma cena da memória afetiva da artista: um ritual de nascimento de um bebê do povo Tukano. A cena pintada na obra narra, de dentro de uma maloca Tukano, o momento do parto até o descanso da mãe na Rede Macaco, que recebe os cuidados dos parentes próximos e do pajé da tribo.
Fruto da doação dos colecionadores de arte Mônica e Fábio Ulhoa Coelho, a obra de Duhigó está em exibição na sede do MASP, em São Paulo, dentro da mostra “Acervo em Transformação: doações recentes”, e ficará em cartaz até fevereiro de 2022.
“O trabalho de Duhigó na mostra ‘Acervo em transformação: doações recentes’ expressa o trabalho contínuo que tem sido realizado para fortalecer a presença indígena no museu, este é o contexto dessa doação. A extraordinária pintura Nepü Arquepü (Rede Macaco) representa um importante momento de cerimônia e celebração do nascimento de uma criança e dos laços de comunidade que se fortalecem nesse evento ímpar.
